Lounge Chair by Werner Biermann for Arte Sano, 1960s Colombia
Rare Colombian lounge chair designed by German born designer Werner Biermann for Arte Sano in the 1960s. Biermann settled in Colombia in the 1930s, where he founded a furniture factory that introduced European and Scandinavian design influences to South America.
This low slung lounge chair is part of the 'Artesano' collection and is a beautiful example of the fusion between European design and South American craftsmanship. The chair features a distinctive low profile and sculptural silhouette. The chair was painted black by a previous owner.
